The thing that made Lilo a “freak” was her passion. Lilo was passionate about everything she ever did. She was passionate about Elvis, about feeding the ocean fish sandwiches, about making friends, about taming Stitch, and about Hula. Look at her smile. She is the only one who seems to be truly enjoying what she’s doing. It adds life. Passion is life. It’s vitality. It’s amazing. Be a Lilo.

Because it is something that helps her cope, it’s something that helps her hold on to the memory of her parents. She’s passionate about feeding Pudge sandwiches because Pudge controls the weather which took her parents from her. She’s passionate about making friends because that’s a hard thing to do when you’ve lost your parents and live in a different situation. She’s passionate about taming stitch because he’s the first anything that she’s let herself fall in love with because ohana means family, and that means no one gets left behind or forgotten. Lastly, she’s passionate about Hula because that was her mom’s thing. It was probably the biggest thing she has to help her remember her mother in the best way possible.

I have a lot of Lilo feels for a reason, and it rather amuses me that I’m writing this about a Disney movie, when I love Disney and work there for the exact reason, because it’s the biggest thing I have to help me remember mom in the best way possible.
